In the Bloody Roar series , the HUD (heads-up display) is used to simultaneously display several pieces of information to the player(s), including the fighter's health and beast status, the timer, and the number of rounds left.

Bloody Roar[]

HDU BR
  • 1 - Health: yellow bar indicates the player's current amount of health, red bar indicates the amount of health lost to the current combo, blue bar indicates recoverable health in Beast form. If the blue bar is glowing is mean that the fighter is in Beast Form and thus recovering.
  • 2 - Beast Gauge: Large rainbow bar with a red B glowing indicates that the player can use the Beast transformation; a large orange bar indicates that the player is already in Beast Form once empty it will come back to the human form. A thin blue bar indicates that the player has to fill up the gauge to being able to use the Beast transformation when done a  glowing "BEAST" will appear on the gauge.
  • 3 - RAVE: When "RAVE" appears below the Beast Gauge it means that the player is in Rave mode . Which also means that the Beast Gauge will deflate over time.
  • 4 - Fighter's name: The colors change depending on the fighter's outfit. With the first outfit, the letters will be gold on a blue background, with the second outfit the letters will be silver with a red background and with the third outfit te letters will be silver with grey background.
  • 5 - Round count: Each fighter starts with as many empty (blue) count than the number of rounds needed to win. A round won is represented by a counter filled in red.
  • 6 - Hit counter: The numbers show how many hits you have done in a combo.
  • 7 - Round Timer: This timer shows how much time is left in the round. The timer starts from a duration determined by the player. When the timer hits 0, whichever character has more health remaining wins the round.
  • 8 - Rave: If a "Rave" is glowing above the fighters' health meters it means that the Rave mode is turned on for the fight.

Bloody Roar 2[]

A glowing yellow bar with a BEAST button on the side and the apparition of a glowing "BEAST CHANGE!!" above indicates that the Beast Gauge is full and that the player can use the Hyper Beast transformation. When the Beast Gauge disappears, it means that the player used, or is using, the Hyper Beast transformation and that he can no longer use the Beast or Hyper Beast transformation.

HDU BR3 2
  • 7 - Hyper Beast Timer: When a player transform himself into Hyper Beast Form, instead of his Beast Gauge there is a Timer of 12 seconds (12 "000). Once ending, the timer disappears but the Beast Gauge won't appear.

Bloody Roar: Primal Fury[]

  • 1 - Health: Green bar indicates the player's current amount of health, red bar indicates the amount of health lost to the current combo, blue bar indicates recoverable health in Beast form.
  • 2 - Beast Gauge: A yellow bar with a "BEAST CHANGE!!" above indicates that the player can use the Beast transformation; a glowing yellow bar indicates that the player is already in Beast Form once empty it will come back to the human form. A blue bar indicates that the player has to fill up the gauge to being able to use the Beast transformation when done a  glowing "BEAST CHANGE!!" will shortly appear above the gauge. A glowing yellow and red bar indicates that the Beast Gauge is full and that the player can use Hyper Beast transformation without loosing Health. A glowing white and red bar indicates that the player is in Hyper Beast Form which also means that the Beast Gauge will deflate over time.
  • 3 - Fighter's name
  • 4 - Round count: Each fighter starts with as many empty counters than the number of rounds needed to win. A round won is represented by a counter filled in orange.
  • 5 - Hit counter: The numbers show how many hits you have done in a combo. Letters in orange for the Player one and in blue for the Player two.
  • 6 - Round Timer: This timer shows how much time is left in the round. The timer starts from a duration determined by the player. When the timer hits 0, whichever character has more health remaining wins the round.

Bloody Roar 4[]

HDU BR4
  • 1 - Human Gauge: The Orange bar indicates the player's current amount of health in Human Form. If the bar is glowing it means that the player is in Human form and will take damage on this Gauge.
  • 2 - Beast Gauge: The Blue bar indicates the player's current amount of health in Beast Form and Hyper Beast Form . If the bar is glowing, it means that the player is in Beast or Hyper Beast form and will take damage on this Gauge. If the bar it's not glowing, it means that the fighter is in Human form but will be able to fulfill the Beast Gauge by hitting the opponent, getting hit by him or by using the Charge Power .

Trivia[]

  • Since the first game, the Hit counter always displays "HIT" in singular despite being preceded by the number 2 or more, Bloody Roar 4 fixed this mistake by putting "HITS" in plural.
BR4 HUD Bad Cut
  • The Beast Gauge sprites in Bloody Roar 4 are badly cut, resulting in a gap between the Gauges and their tips.
